Ann B. O'Neil

Ann B. (Chuplis) O'Neil, 87, formerly of Tirrell St., Worcester, died Sunday, October 12, 2008 in the Sterling Healthcare Center.

Her husband Philip J. O'Neil died in 2001. She leaves two sons, Philip J. O'Neil Jr. and his wife Patricia O'Neil of Worcester, and John R. O'Neil and his wife Angela O'Neil of St. Louis, Missouri; a daughter, Karen O'Neil Smith of Yarmouth Port; three grandchildren, Brendan J. O'Neil, Matthew P. O'Neil and Aurelia O'Neil, and her best friend of 70 years, Anne Stanavich. Her two brothers, Joseph and Edgar Chuplis, and her sister, Rita Chuplis, predeceased her.

Ann was born in Worcester, daughter of Joseph P. and Annie M. (Kaslauskas) Chuplis. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and the Ward School of Business.

She was a payroll clerk at U.S. Steel Co. Cable Division in Worcester for many years. She later worked at Glasses Market in Main South.

She was a member of St. Peter's Church.

The funeral Mass will be Friday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Name Central Catholic High School, 144 Granite St., Worcester 01604 or St. Peter's Parish, 929 Main St., Worcester 01610. The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
