Claire Bazinet Obituary

Claire M. (Marchand) Bazinet, 88, formerly of East Main Street, died Thursday, Oct. 16, at Webster Manor. Her husband, Leo Bazinet, died in 1984.

She leaves 2 brothers, Norman J. Marchand of Torrington, CT, and Roger E. Marchand and his wife Junice of The Villages, FL; a stepdaughter, Jackie Duval of Webster; her longtime companion, Joseph J. Bonnette of Webster; 14 nieces and nephews; 31 great nieces and nephews; and 2 great great nieces. She was preceded in death by a brother, Francis H. Marchand, and by a stepdaughter, Natalie Bolduc.

She was born in Webster on December 3, 1919, the daughter of Hormidas and Leonie (Blain) Marchand, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Becker College in Leicester.

Mrs. Bazinet worked at Ethan Allen Company, Inc. in Dudley for 39 years before she retired in 1985.

She was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was an active member of the Ladies of Saint Anne. She belonged to the Webster Bridge Club, the Senior Center Pitch League, and the Thursday Morning Bowling League.

The funeral will be held Saturday, October 18, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at noon in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main St. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. A calling period will be from 9:45 to 11:15 AM Saturday, Oct. 18, in the funeral home.
