Joseph Pichierri Obituary

Joseph A. Pichierri, 78, of 95 Millbury Ave., died Thursday, Oct. 16th in the Westborough Health Care Center.

He leaves his wife, Elizabeth A. (Walsh) Pichierri; two daughters: Nancy A. Pichierri of Southbridge and Manda L. wife of Bradford Day of Brimfield; a sister, Angelina Lynch of Millbury; nephews and nieces. He was born in Millbury and is predeceased by his parents, John and Marianni (DellChioie) Pichierri; two sisters: Mary Tauper and Ida Shepard and a brother, Frank Pichierri.

Mr. Pichierri worked at the New England High Carbon Wire Co. and United Tool Co. both in Millbury for many years, and retired as a custodian at the Raymond E. Shaw Middle School in 1996. He was an Army Sergeant serving four years during the Korean War in the Medical Corp and he served three of the four years in Trieste, Italy. He enjoyed gardening and refinishing furniture.

His funeral will be held Monday, Oct. 20th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at Noon in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bell Tower Fund of St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527 or to the Friend's of the Seniors, One River St., Millbury, MA 01527.
