Richard Henry Obituary

Richard J. Henry, 79, of Oak St. died Fri. Oct. 17, 2008 at the Lydia Taft House, Uxbridge.

Mr. Henry had been employed at the Savers Co-Op Bank in Uxbridge as a parking lot attendant for the bank for 8 years. He had previously been the custodian for the Uxbridge Town Hall.

Richard had also been employed at the former Bernat Yarns in Uxbridge in the plating and dye house., and did nickel plating at the former Whitin Machine Works in Whitinsville for many years.

Mr. Henry was born Dec. 13, 1928 in Bristol, CT the son of the late Ernest R. and Bertha V. (Mahaffy) Henry. He was educated in the Uxbridge schools system.

Richard was a longtime member and custodian of the former Taft Memorial Methodist Church in Uxbridge and a member of the Uxbridge Senior Center.

Mr. Henry is survived by one daughter, Diane L. and her husband George Bourassa of Pittsfield; two brothers, Ernest R. Henry Jr. of Uxbridge, Robert R. Henry of Worcester; one sister, Sandra J. Conley of Uxbridge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by four brothers, Linwood W. Henry, Raymond Henry, Donald F. Henry and Carroll N. Henry.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 at 3 PM in the BUMA FUNERAL HOME, 101 North Main St. (Rt. 122), Uxbridge, MA 01569.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 from 1-3 PM in the funeral home prior to the funeral.

Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date in the West Cemetery, Bristol, CT.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Visiting Nurse Assoc. of Greater Milford-Northbridge Area, 25 Birch St. Bldg. B, Suite B1, Milford, MA. 01757.
