Frances Steelman Obituary

Frances L. (Earley) Steelman, 75, of School St., died Friday, October 17th in the UMass Memorial Hospital-University, Worcester, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 55 years, Richard E. Steelman; her three children, David Steelman and his wife Debbie of Charlton, Linda Kusy and her husband Ted of Auburn, and Steven Steelman of Phoenix, AZ; her two sisters, Connie Keefe of Brookfield, and Phyllis Farris of Alexandria, VA; her six grandchildren, Jason Kusy, Todd Kusy, Janna Gero, Alysha Steelman, Ashley Steelman, and Keith Steelman; and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Blain, Kenneth and Marlin Earley.

Frances was born and raised in Uniontown, PA, daughter of the late Floyd G. and Sylvia (Daniels) Earley, and graduated from high school there. She then moved to Massachusetts where she has lived for 55 years. Frances retired in 1990 as the head receptionist for Wonder Markets in Worcester, where she had worked for 25 years. She was a longtime member of the Hadwen Park Congregational Church, and the Pakachoag Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. An avid camper, Frances was a member of the Happy Sam's Camping Association, and the Bay Path Chapter of the NAFCA. She enjoyed square dancing, loved reading, and she created many beautiful quilts. She always enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, October 20th from 6-8 PM in the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 21st at 10 AM in the Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Auburn. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn.
