Thomas Frieswyk Obituary

Thomas S. Frieswyk, 81, died Monday, October 20, in the Saint Camillus Health Center. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rose (Blair) Frieswyk; two sons, Peter J. Frieswyk, of Whitinsville, and Thomas S. Frieswyk, of West Chester, PA; a daughter, Brenda Mitchell, of Millbury; a sister, Mary Gilmore, of Falmouth; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mr. Frieswyk was born in Whitinsville, September 4, 1927, the son of Peter and Mildred (Magill) Frieswyk, and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School and Worcester Junior College, and he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

An electrician, he worked 50 years at the former Whitin Machine Works. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Whitinsville, the Meadowview Rod and Gun Club, and he served as Skipper of the S.S. Thomas Sea Scout Ship. He was a volunteer fireman on the Northbridge Fire Department for many years.

Mr. Frieswyk's funeral will be held at 11 AM, Friday, October 24, in the United Presbyterian Church, Cottage St., Whitinsville. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. Calling Hours will be 9-10:30 AM, Friday, October 24, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill St., Whitinsville. Memorial donations may be made to either the United Presbyterian Church of Whitinsville, 7 Spring St., Whitinsville, MA, 01588, or to the St. Camillus Health Center, 447 Hill St., Whitinsville, MA, 01588.

Rose, our thoughts & prayers are with you at this time. We were so sorry to hear about Tom. Bob & I have such good memories of when Bob helped as Asst Skipper at the Sea Scout Camp and the good times we had there. Tom was a great guy!
