Edith Helie Obituary

Edith M. (Evans) Helie, 89, of Auburn, died Monday in the UMass Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester after a brief illness.

Her husband Walter T. Helie died in 1967.

She is survived by her three children: a daughter, Judith Helie, of Auburn, with whom she lived; two sons, Donald Helie and his wife Cynthia of Auburn, and Douglas Helie, of Rutland. She also leaves 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Helie, and his wife Mara of Boca Raton FL, and Shalon Helie, of Auburn; and two great grandchildren, Liam and Lola; and a brother, John Evans and his wife Theresa of Thompson, CT.

She was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

She was born in Putnam, CT; she was the daughter of the late Earle and Dora (Charboneau) Evans. She was educated in the Putnam school system, and moved to Auburn in 1949. Her devoted family and her cats were her life.

Mrs. Helie worked as a homemaker and stay at home Mom. She had previously worked for the former State Mutual Insurance Co.

Funeral plans and burial in Hillside will be held privately.
