Henry Boria Obituary

Henry L. Boria passed away peacefully October 24, at Holy Trinity Nursing Home at the age of 90 years. His wife, Tefta C. (Joseph) Boria died in 1997, shortly after their fiftieth wedding anniversary.

He leaves three daughters, Marcia B. Mariner, wife of Mark D. Mariner of Sutton, Dianne M. Novak, wife of Ronald R. Novak of Sutton , Janice E. Koczan and partner Michael Tuttle of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Micaela, Matthew and Melissa Mariner, Cheryl Carl, husband of Steven Carl, Ronald Jr. and Nicole A. Novak and Jeremy J. Koczan, husband of Angela Koczan; two great grandchildren, Trevor and Tristan Carl; and two sisters, Freda Pappas and Helen Boria of Auburn. His son, Donald H. Boria and brother, Dr. Thomas Boria predeceased him.

Born in Worcester to Albanian immigrant parents, Henry was the oldest son of Louis J. and Evgjenia (Steffon) Boria. Henry worked with his father at Deer Hill Farm of Sutton from a young age and then took it over and managed it for 25 years. He operated the Deer Hill Farm Potato Processing Company for 20 more years, retiring in 1989. He was a Charter Member, Past King Lion and Past Treasurer of the Sutton Lions Club. He also served as a member of the Town of Sutton's Zoning Board of Appeals. Henry was a member of the St. Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church in Worcester.

Henry could usually be seen enjoying the outdoors and farming. In 1996, Henry and Tefta donated much of their beloved land back to the Town of Sutton's Conservation Land Trust. A great cook, Henry and his wife, Tefta, enjoyed hosting family and friends each July 4th on the farm. Henry could brighten up a room with his radiant smile and touched many lives with his generous and loving spirit. He especially adored his wife, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, leaving a legacy of love behind in all of the children's hearts. They will miss him dearly.

Words cannot convey the deep gratitude the family feels for the exceptional care given to Henry during his stay at the Holy Trinity Nursing Home.

A service celebrating Henry's life, and final reunion with his wife and son, will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 30th at the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. The burial will take place in the Howard Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Activity Fund of the Holy Trinity Nursing Home, 300 Barbara Ave., Worcester, MA 01606. Dianne, your Mom and Dad were very special people. I am grateful to have known them for so many years. I know you all have such special memories that you will be able to share for many, many years. I really do look forward to that July 4th cook-out that your Dad started. It is always so nice to see everyone that I only see once a year.
