Eve Kawcab Obituary

Eve D. Kawcab, 88, of Delmont Avenue in Worcester, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2008, in her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by two brothers-in-law, John F. Sullivan and George J. Buffone both of Worcester; many nieces and nephews including, Caroline M. Sullivan and Jack Sullivan both of Worcester, and Peter Marszalek of Hopkinton. She was pre-deceased by a brother and four sisters, Mitchell M. Kowkabany, Margaret Marszalek, Ann Sullivan, Mary Barber, and Elizabeth "Betty" Buffone.

Eve was born in Worcester, daughter of Siad and Martha (Ferris) Kawcab, and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Fanning Trade High School, with a certificate in nutrition.

Ms. Kawcab worked as a clock inspector for G.E. Telechron, later Timex, before retiring in 1982, after thirty seven years of dedicated service. Eve was a unique woman, who enjoyed dining out and socializing with her family and friends.

Her family would like to offer special thanks to her caring neighbors, Elder Services of Worcester, Family Extensions and UMass-Memorial Hospice; their dedication and compassion kept her safe and happy at home. Joan, she especially appreciated the friendship and loving care you provided.

There will only be one Aunt Eve.

The funeral for Eve will be held Tuesday, October 28, at 12:30 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
