Russell Dion Obituary

Russell J. Dion, 82, of Worcester died unexpectedly Friday October 24, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital. His beloved wife of 54 years Dorothy M. (Murray) Dion died July 21, 2008. Russell is survived by his loving family; two daughters Cynthia Bosselmann and her husband Charles of Tampa, Florida, Nancy Price and her husband Reginald of Worcester, a grandson Devin Price, a brother Earl Dion and his wife Helen of Oxford, a brother in law Edward Murray and his wife Rose of Holden, two sister in law's Emily Ciappenelli and Frances D'Acri both of Worcester, and several nephews and nieces.

Russell was born in Worcester son of Norman and Mary Dion and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Commerce High School, and served in the United States Navy during WWll. Russell was a machinist for the Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester and Grafton for 35 years before he retired.

Russell was a long time member of the Local Steelworkers Union, and enjoyed being with his family, and loved talking sports with his grandson Devin. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Russell's funeral will be held Tuesday October 28, at 11:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. calling hours will be from 9:00AM to 11:00AM in the funeral home prior to the service. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Contributions made be made to the American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham, Ma. 01701.
