Helen Kroyak Obituary

Helen Kroyak, 92, formerly of Worcester, died Saturday, October 25, 2008 in the Millbury Healthcare Center.

She leaves two sisters, Josephine Kroyak and Mary O'Neil, both of Worcester; a sister-in-law, Catherine Kroyak of Leicester; a dedicated family friend, Gloria D'Andrea of Worcester; and many nephews and nieces.

Her two brothers, John J. Kroyak and Rev. Edward J. Kroyak, and a sister, Frances M. Holland, predeceased her.

Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of Andrew and Sophia (Karbowski) Kroyak and lived in Worcester most of her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School.

Helen was head cashier in the downtown Worcester office of the Commonwealth Gas Co. She began with the company when it was known as Worcester Gas Light Co. and worked there 40 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a longtime member of Immaculate Conception Parish.

The funeral Mass will be Tuesday, October 28 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove St., Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Church.

The Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester, is directing arrangements.
