Grace Condon Obituary

Grace M. (Eagan) Condon, 86, of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, October 25th in Westborough Health Care Center, after an illness.

Her husband of 49 years, William R. "Buck" Condon, Jr. died in 1998. She is survived by two sons, William R. Condon III., and his wife, Linda of Millbury, Thomas L. Condon of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Barbara A. Connolly and her husband, Brian of Shrewsbury; a sister, Helen "Honey" Berry of Peabody; a sister-in-law, Winnie Condon of Salem; also survived by three granddaughters, one grandson, one great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews, She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Elizabeth "Liz" Connolly who died in 2007.

She was born Peabody, daughter of the late George and Bridget (Hyde) Eagan and had lived in Peabody for 42 years before moving to Shrewsbury in 1964. She graduated from Peabody High School in 1939.

Grace was a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend to so many. She was an active member of Saint Mary's Parish and enjoyed being a member of her neighborhood rosary group that has been meeting for over 45 years. Grace always found time to follow national, state and local politics and she loved watching all kinds of sporting events.

Relative and friends are invited to visit with the Condon family on Thursday, October 30th from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 31st at 10 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Saint Mary's Building Fund, 20 Summer Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545 or to the Liz Connolly Memorial Fund, c/o Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union, 615 Main Street, Shrewsbury, MA 01545. Mrs. Condon will always have a special place in my heart. I will remember her with many fond memories and a smile on my face. I loved her energy, her great spirit and her wonderful laugh. She had a way of making everyone she met feel very special and loved. Mrs. Condon was blessed with a wonderful husband and family. I will remember her with joy in my heart. My love and sympathy to the Connolly and Condon family.
