Robert Keating Obituary

Robert Anthony Keating, 13B Flagler Drive, formerly of Homossos and Orlando FL, and Trenton, NJ. Son of Clarence and Mary (Connors) Keating, died Thursday evening October 23, 2008 at Autumn Nursing Home, Worcester. Born in Long Island, NY, May 27, 1927.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret M. (Huddy) Keating; a daughter, Colleen M. Orrell, Lisbon, CT. Three sons: Robert H. Keating of S. Duxbury, VT, Kevin P. Keating of Holden, MA, Shawn W. Keating and wife Jane of N. Fayson, VT. Twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. His sister, Anne F. Hutchinson preceded him this past September and is survived by her husband T. Coerte Hutchinson of Pennington, NJ.

He attended Trenton Catholic, pausing to serve his country in the N. Atlantic with the Coast Guard during World War II. He resumed his education at Pennington Prep School and graduated in 1947. Bob then attended and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1951 with a degree in Civil Engineering, serving in the Air Force Reserves. He then returned to NJ.

Bob's work history in the Commercial Construction industry spanned 45 years including projects from survey chief on the N.J. Turnpike, Prudential Center, Boston to the Universal Studios in Orlando, FL. Bob was a respected innovated leader in the Prestress Concrete Industry from it's inception until his retirement in 1997. Completing major projects along the East Coast from Massachusetts to Florida, touching many lives along the way.
