Bernadette Y. Bolduc

Bernadette Y. (Desjardins) Bolduc, 96, died on Sunday, October 26, 2008, in St. Francis Home, after a long illness.

Her husband of 51 years, Ralph L. Bolduc, died in 1981. She leaves 3 sons: Ralph K. Bolduc and his wife, Lorraine C. (Benoit) Bolduc, of Holden, Roy M. Bolduc of Los Angeles, CA, and David A. Bolduc of Worcester; 2 grandchildren: Denise M. Chasse and her husband, Joseph C. Chasse, of Holden and Marc D. Bolduc of Worcester; 2 great-granddaughters: Elizabeth M. Chasse and Rachel M. Chasse, both of Holden; a sister, Florence Duncan of Albuquerque, NM; and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by 4 sisters.

Mrs. Bolduc was born in Mont Carmel, Quebec, Canada, on February 14, 1912, a daughter of the late Polydore and Emma (Paquette) Desjardins. Raised in Worcester, she spent 40 years there before moving to Millbury in 1952. She moved to Riverside, CA in 1977 and returned to Worcester in 1999. She was a graduate of the Worcester High School of Commerce.

Mrs. Bolduc worked for many years as a timekeeper at the Wyman-Gordon Co., North Grafton, before retiring in 1977.. In her teen years, she was a member of the Ionic Boys Club Swim and Diving Team and she competed in many local and regional meets where she won numerous medals for diving. Winters, she also excelled at speed skating. In later years, she particularly enjoyed travel. She was a former member of St. Brigid Catholic Parish, Millbury.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, October 30, in St. Brigid Catholic Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. She will then be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Notre Dame des Canadiens Cemetery, Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Mercy Center, 25 West Chester St., Worcester, MA 01605. Turgeon Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Millbury, is helping with the arrangements.
