Mr. Bombard WAS Tantasqua and all who walked the halls revered him! I truly believe that any student who attended THS during his "reign" will have fond memories of him. Mentors who cared like he did are a GIFT!

My condolences to you and your family. I remember Mr. Bombard's laughter and words from my years at Tantasqua a long time ago (1982) and also cared for him as a nurse many years later. He was still the same humble funny and generous man. May he rest in peace. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Bombard. He will always be remembered as "Bubby" and will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have him as a mentor.

God Bless you and yours and God bless "Bubby"

Words cannot express the amount of love and respect I felt for "Bubby". He was a phenominal person with an incredible zest for life. An excellent mentor as well as friend, he always had the ability to find humor in any situation. Like many others, I too looked forward to his impromptu visits to either Mr. Blake's or Mr. Bruneau's class. He had such a positive impact on so many lives. A truly fine example of what an educator should be. My deepest sympathies to his family, he will be dearly missed by many.

Aunt Gwen, everybody,
Condolences on the passing of Uncle Bob. Saw him several times at games and events at THS since my wife, Chris, started teaching there over eight years ago. He truly will be missed by all who knew him.

My condolences to all the family. Mr. Bombard was the best. Always enjoyed visiting him in his office at TRHS or passing him in the hall. He had a way of keeping us in line just by giving us his look.

Old Bob was an amazing man and grandfather. I remember when I was young we always went fishing off the dock at Leister house, and how excited I would get when I caught even the tiniest little fish. I never had the chance to say goodbye, but I know that he's looking out for me and all those he loved.

Mr. Bombard was all Green & Gold, he was an insperation to everyone at Tantasqua and the father of the High School. He would be sweeping the hall ways, coming into classes and then give a lecture and then if you needed discipline he would do that also. This man was someone to look up to, when and if you were having tough times in your life. I want to thank the Bombard family for sharing him with all of us. Mr. Bombard you will be missed but NEVER forgotten.

RIP, Uncle Bob. Always loved it when you'd visit Tantasqua and drop by in my classes and my teachers were more than happy to let me leave class to catch up with you. You're awesome.

My condolences to the family. I remember Mr. Bombard fondly from my days at THS. My favorite memory was when he used to drop in on our English Lit class and take over the teaching - we always enjoyed his surprise visits - he was a great teacher, vice principal and mentor to many students. He will be missed.

I am going to miss Ol' Bob so very much. He was a wonderful man who cared deeply about others, and always put others first. Whenever I'd see him, I'd ask him about his health, and he'd always brush off my question and turn it around and ask me about MINE. And then he wouldn't let me brush his question off, he'd always press me for details and let me know that he cared deeply about me and what I was going through. I can see from reading others' comments here that he was like that with everyone, a true rarity in this world. I hope that I touched his life even 1/1000th of how he touched mine. My condolences to Bob's family and all who loved him, which is obviously MULTITUDES.

My thoughts and prayers are extended to Mr. Bombard's Family and Friends. Talk about a lasting impression. In the Summer of 1975 I was involved in a serious accident during a camping trip. For the 11 days I was in the ICU at the Worcester City Hospital, Mr. Bombard visited me each and every day on his way home. Never forgot that, never will! He was (is) a man of intelligence, compassion, strength, and of course that legendary sense of humor. A great man who will be greatly missed by all he touched.

No bond is greater than one between a parent and child.
He will truely be misseed by ANYONE who was fortunate enough to know him and what he stood for.
My deepest condolences are with you all.

Everyone has a favorite uncle in their life and my Uncle Bob was certainly mine. I fondly remember our times together including seeing the first Rocky movie together when I visited in 1976. His advice to me was always good (even if I didn't always listen at the time), and was advice I have learned to pass on to my own daughter. It saddens me greatly to think that his smile and infectious love of life will no longer be able to be passed on to those whos lives he touched.
My condolences to my aunt Gwyneth and to all my cousins, he was a great man who will be missed by many.

Your big heart, your laughter and your love for life is a legacy that will be passed on for many more generations through the wonderful memories we will all carry with us. Mr. Bombard was a man I will never forget. As a vice principal, he was a gifted leader, getting all of us to achieve what we should, and more than we thought we could!

I would like to extend my sincere condolences to the Bombard family. Mr. Bombard was so respected as Vice Principal at Tantasqua. He had a great sense of humor and truly enjoyed each student. We would actually hang out with him in his office and just shoot the breeze. Between classes he would stand outside his office and keep an eye on all of us and joke around as we were walking to class. He was a kind man and he left behind a lot of former THS students with fond memories.

I want to extend my condolences to the entire Bombard family. Bob was many things to me during his tenure at TRHS and beyond. A mentor, an inspiration, a friend, a person who influenced and helped to define and support my career. Most of all, I will never forget the Bob who called my home each and every day during a time when my family was struggling with a medical crisis that was certainly unanticpated and very difficult. His heartfelt words of encouragement and positive messages and prayers helped us immeasurably. I will miss him and thank God that he came into my life.

Mr. Bombard was such a wonderful role model for SO MANY people during his career at Tantasqua. As the Vice Principal, Mr. Bombard made sure I stayed in school and saw to it that I graduated with my class in 1989! I am grateful for having the opportunity to be his "administrative assistant" my Senior year. Great memories of a great man!

One could never wander down the halls of THS without hearing Mr. B's contageous laugh. Even when he was upset, he always seemed to find the postive side, always had words of encouragment, always a pat on the back, and of course that genuine smile. Many students and teachers have come and gone through those halls, but to see Mr. B at a basketball game or a football game was was a treat, you wouldnt walk away without a smile and a hug! He truely loved THS and the students that crossed his path, he touched every one of us in his own special way, just to think of him makes one smile. He will be surely missed, what a wonderful legacy he has left behind.

I graduated from Tantasqua 35 years ago and remember Mr. Bombard as one of the top 3 teachers I have ever had. I would bump into him at the Central Mass District Basketball Championships held at WPI in the last few years and he would always ask about my sister, Sue, who had taught at THS many years ago and who has been in poor health. He always remembered to ask of her. His talent for teaching and for touching people will keep him alive in my memory forever. My deepest sympathies to the family.

Please accept my condolences. Mr. Bombard was my favorite teacher, Vice Principal, and the one teacher that I will never forget as long as I live. He saw something in me that other teachers did not. I always wanted to make him proud and I believe I did. Someone else said he was one in a million, and that is true. I wish we had more people of his caliber working with students. Again, I am truly sorry.

None of us who passed through the halls of Tantasqua Regional High School could ever forget Mr. Bombard. Although many years have passed, I had the pleasure of seeing him again at my 30th high school reunion last fall and truly enjoyed speaking with him and remembering the 'good old days'. As I think back on my life, Mr. Bombard is certainly one of those people who made a lasting impression on me. He always had a smile on his face and somehow we knew, despite what terrible teenagers we could be, that he just loved what he did and that endeared him to all of us. My thoughts are with the family.
