Helen Petersen Obituary

Helen E. Petersen, 87, formerly of 64 Edgewood Road, died October 25, 2008. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Roy M. Petersen; a son CDR Gary R. Petersen, USN retired, of Oakdale, CT with whom she lived in recent years: a daughter, Christine L. Beauvais of Springfield, VA; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and lived in Shrewsbury 54 years. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1939. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury and a teacher's aide at Bancroft School.

There will be a celebration of Helen's life at the Sumner House, 5 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA at 2:00PM on November 1, 2008. Burial will be at a later date. The family requests flowers be omitted and contributions made to the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Road, Suite 5, Kensington, CT 06037.
