Adelgita Giovanello Obituary
Her husband, Amande S. Giovanello, died in 1978. She leaves a son, Ronald M. Giovanello of Southbridge; a brother, Philbert Tiberii of Southbridge; a sister, Philomena Dendor of Ware; a daughter-in-law, Johanna (Soldani) Giovanello of Southbridge; four grandchildren, Nicholas Giovanello and his wife Kate, Angela Giovanello, Enrico Giovanello and his wife Noelle, and Samantha Bechta and her husband Adam; four great grandchildren, Tylor Bechta, Jake Bechta, Ross Bechta and Amber Garneau; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sons, Bruce A. Giovanello in 2003 and Armand Giovanello in 1941. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Leo Tiberii, James Tiberii, and Alfred Tiberii and three sisters, Evelyn Madore, Julia DiMazio and Vilda Santilli. She was born in Charlton, the daughter of Joseph and Maria (Gentile) Tiberii.
Gita worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for many years and later worked in the Southbridge High School cafeteria for many years before retiring several years ago. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and its St. Rita's Society. In her youth she was very athletic and participated in several sports. She enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles and playing bingo. She was an avid sports fan enjoying all of the New England pro sports teams and also an avid follower of the Southbridge High basketball, football, and baseball teams.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, Nov. 3rd, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Sunday, Nov. 2nd, from 2:00 to 5:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Bruce A. Giovanello's memory to the UMass Memorial Foundation/Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, 333 South St., Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
