Dorothy Reynolds Obituary

Dorothy E. (Bergland) Reynolds, 86, died at home surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, November 07, 2008 after an illness.

Her husband of 64 years, Clyde S. Reynolds, Jr., died in 2006. She leaves her two sons, Robert L. Reynolds and his wife Marcia of Haddam, CT and John D. Reynolds and his wife Bonnie of Lunenburg; two daughters, Mary L. Power and her husband Gerald of Rutland and Janice E. Rotti and her husband Timothy of Hubbardston; 11 grandchildren, Erin Wilkos, Scott Reynolds, Rebecca Reynolds, Ian Reynolds, James Reynolds, Joseph Power, Laura Bujnowski, Julia Power, Anne Power, Ashley Rotti and Lucas Rotti; and 3 great grandchildren, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Emma Wilkos. A grandson, Paul Rotti predeceased her.

She was born at home on a small dairy farm, in Granger, Indiana, the daughter of Lawrence and Theresa Bergland. Dorothy graduated from high school in North Liberty, IN and attended business college. She worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in South Bend, IN where she met her husband, Clyde. She and her husband raised their children in the United States, Canada, and Scotland. In 1966 the couple moved to West Boylston. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in West Boylston and a co-founder of the 2nd Chance Thiftshop. She was an avid gardener and a longtime member of the Beaman Oak Garden Club in West Boylston. Her greatest joy was her family.

The funeral service for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10th in the First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central St., West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Congregational Church of West Boylston, 26 Central St., West Boylston, MA 01583; or to the Salvation Army, 77 Cambridge St., Worcester MA 01603. Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester, Rd., Sterling is assisting the family with arrangements.
