Albert Merolli Obituary

Albert F. Merolli, 77, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away, Saturday, October 25, in the Audi L Murphy Veterans Hospital after a battle with cancer.

Albert is survived by two daughters, Angela Tallarida and Olivia Lehosit; one brother, Louis Merolli; four sisters, Marietta Carles, Francis Gniadek, Viola Gifford, and Barbara Anderson; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Albert was born in Uxbridge, son of Louis and Christina (Cimini) Merolli. He graduated from Uxbridge High School and joined the Armed Forces, serving in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Albert was highly decorated, receiving the Air Medal during the Korean Conflict. During the Vietnam Conflict Albert received the Airman Medal for saving the life of an injured pilot by pulling him from a crashed, burning plane.

Mr. Merolli retired from the Air Force and worked for the US State Department in Thailand and The Philippines before retiring to Texas. He was an avid and accomplished golfer.

The funeral Mass for Albert will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 15, at Saint Mary's Church in Uxbridge. Internment will be on December 5 at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX.
