After sharing today with so many relatives and friends at my Aunt Mary's funereal mass, it made me want to express a few of my past recollections.
Over the years, it was my Aunt Mary who would never forget a special day, like a birthday or Christmas, amongst others, with a card. It was always her way of staying in touch. These past few years, her phone calls became a little more common. her way of staying in touch with all those she cared about. I imagine the list was very long. I would ask about her health and how her back felt. And she always ended with an "I love you".
Aunt Mary, it is now your time to peacefully rest in the kingdom of God. You were very special and we miss you already. We all love you.
