Loretta Drelinger Obituary

Loretta R. (Ciarfella) Drelinger, 84, of Shrewsbury, died Friday, November 28th in the Shrewsbury Nursing & Rehab. Center, Shrewsbury, after an illness.

She leaves her beloved husband of 66 years, Harold Drelinger; her three sons, Joseph Drelinger and his wife Constance of Holden, Edward Drelinger and his wife Jeanne of Shrewsbury and Robert Drelinger and his wife Cynthia of Worcester; her eight grandchildren, Christine Barrows, Elizabeth Spangler, Heidi Lenox, Tammy Kent, Mark Drelinger, Amy Drelinger, Jill Cormier, and David Drelinger, and her 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Rosemarie Hodgson in 1996.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edward and Ida (Desjardins) Ciarfella. She graduated from Commerce High School and Becker Junior College. Mrs. Drelinger worked in retail sales for many years. Along with her husband, Loretta enjoyed being near the ocean while summering in Wells, ME and wintering in Largo, FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, December 1st from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 684 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11 AM in Saint Mary's Church, 640 Main St., Shrewsbury. Following cremation, burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association - Massachusetts, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
