Mary Hedberg Obituary

Mary Virginia (Carroll) Hedberg, 83, of Duncannon Ave., died Mon., Nov. 24. Her husband of 36 years, Harold W. Hedberg died on Oct. 20.

She leaves three stepchildren, Kate Zannoni and her husband Steve of Shaker Heights, OH and their children, Dante and Cesare, Kevin Hedberg and his wife Marie of Norfolk and their children, Michelle and Kristina and Brian Hedberg and his wife Helen of Needham and their children, Andrew, Matthew and Mark; nieces; nephews; grand-nieces; grand-nephews and great grand-nieces; great grand-nephews. She was the sister of John J., Irene O'Rourke, George H., Rev. David F.S.J., Sister Frances Julienne SND, Vincent P., and Roger T. Jr.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Roger and Julia (Carroll) Carroll and graduated from Ascension High School in 1942 and Clark University in 1946 in the first class of women graduates.

Mary Virginia was a supervisor in the proof reading department at Heffernan Press for 35 years, retiring in 1982 and worked at Capeside Realty, Dennisport for three years. She was a member of the Clark University Alumni and its Council Board, the Worcester Executive Assoc. and A.A.U.W. She enjoyed volunteering at Elder Services of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Notre Dame Long Term Care and the Campion Center for Retired Jesuits in Weston.

The funeral will be held Saturday, December 6, from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A visiting hour will be held Saturday, December 6, from 8:30 to 9:30 AM in the funeral home.
