Steven Roach Obituary

Steven James Roach, 18, of North Brookfield Rd., died on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

He is survived by his parents, James Edmond and Lisa Marie (Colbert) Roach; a sister, Sarah L. Roach; a brother, John C. Roach all of Barre; his maternal grandparents, Nancy Colbert of Barre and Dennis and Mary Colbert of Worcester and his great-grandmother, Jean Danielson of Holden; his paternal grandparents, John and Ann Persson of Worcester; 5 aunts, Laura, Lisa, Cheryl, Amie, and Nicole; 4 uncles, Danny, Jeremy, Tim, and Carl; and many extended relatives and good friends.

Steven was born in Worcester and was a senior at Quabbin Regional High School. He was a member of the Quabbin Regional High School football team from 2005-2009. He was an active member of the Heritage Bible Chapel in Princeton, and a lifelong believer in The Lord Jesus Christ. In 2006 and in 2008, he participated in Katrina Relief, a mission to rebuild homes in the Gulf Port, Mississippi.

Steven was a great kid, a good friend to so many, and truly a selfless person, throughout his entire life. He was the best son, best big brother, and best friend anyone could ever have. God knows we will all miss him, but if Steve were here today, he would tell us that it doesn't have to be forever. We will see him again someday if we only believe as he believed. - John 3:16.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 2nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral service for Steven will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd, in the Heritage Bible Chapel, 182 Brooks Station Rd., Princeton. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Roach Family Benefit Fund, c/o Athol Savings Bank, 560 Summer St., Barre, MA 01005.

Jim, Lisa, and D+Family

We are so sorry for your lost. Steve was a wonderful gentleman and he will be truly missed. We had the honors of being your neighbors for many years. Steve would always come over to help Austin with his play station or run an errand for his mom. He is playing the super bowl up in heaven and winning with no pain. You know Lisa and Jim, WE WILL SEE HIM AGAIN!! We love you!!
