Helen Kennedy Obituary

Helen (Brown) Thompson Kennedy, 85, died Sunday, Aug. 19th, in her home, after an illness. Her 1st husband, William I. Thompson, Jr., died in 1973 and her second husband, Ralph Kennedy died in 1987.

Mrs. Kennedy leaves two sons, William I. Thompson, III and his wife Diane of Falls Church, VA; Francis J. Thompson and his wife Lorrie of Millbury, MA; two daughters, Carolyn B. Thompson of Millbury, MA and Elizabeth T. Rick and husband Errol of Chelmsford, MA. Mrs. Kennedy was the loving grandmother of nine grandchildren and the great-grandmother of nine great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Bette Pope, of Auburn, MA and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, James A. and Maude E. (Barlow) Brown and a daughter, Martha W. King, of Chelmsford, MA. Mrs. Kennedy was a switchboard operator for AT&T in Worcester, before she retired. She was a volunteer for the Meal of Wheels program in Millbury and was a former member of the Millbury Woman's Club.

Her funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22nd from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21st in the funeral home.
