Joanne Clemons Obituary

Joanne C. Clemons, 72, of Westborough, died on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus, Worcester. She was the wife of Edward R. Clemons.

Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Charles D. and Effie (Harris) Cole. She was educated in Leominster schools and was a graduate of Fitchburg State College.

Mrs. Clemons was employed as a third grade teacher at the Hastings Elementary School prior to her retirement in 1998.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking and was dedicated to her entire family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Mark E. Clemons of Westborough, Amy R. D'Avia of Grafton and David R. Clemons of Franklin; her children's spouses, Gayle Clemons, David D'Avia and Tara Clemons; two brothers, Charles D. Cole of Pennsylvania and Frederick D. Cole of South Dartmouth; her brother-in-law, Arthur H. Clemons and his wife, Shirley, of Shrewsbury and five grandchildren, Andrew Clemons, Vanessa Clemons, Heather Clemons, Allison Clemons and Jessica Clemons.

She was the mother of the late Anne M. Clemons and sister of the late Alton H. Cole.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, at 10:00 A.M. in the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, October 2, from 4 to 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westborough Music Parents Association, PO Box 31, Westborough, MA 01581.
