Robert Ward Obituary

Robert B. Ward, 47, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Worcester and Leicester, died Oct. 18, 2007, after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline T. (Dulieu) Ward of Worcester; his father, Raymond L. Ward, Sr. of Sherborn; his partner, Rick Starses, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL; five brothers, Raymond L. Jr. of Narragansett, RI, Jeffrey R. of Northboro, David A. of Barre, Kenneth J. of Citra, L, Mark P. of Millbury; four sisters, Carol A. Carlo of Worcester, Diane V. Ward of Sturbridge, Susan M. Looney of Shrewsbury, Pamela J. Phillips of Apex, NC; aunts, uncles, cousins and 19 nephews and nieces. He was born in Providence, RI and moved to Worcester at the age of 6.

Bob graduated from Doherty High School and David Hale Fanning School with a degree of LPN. He owned and operated Green Hill (Smith) Nursing Home. Before moving to Fort Lauderdale he was an instructor for the Red Cross C.N.A. program. Bob spent his life helping others and he was a strong advocate of Equal Rights. Bob loved Fort Lauderdale Beach, where he enjoyed his final days.

His memorial funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, October 30, at 1 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester. Burial will be private.

We met Bobby through his brother, David. We have many fond memories of visting Bobby and Rick in Ft. Lauderdale, especially our dinners out, with great conversation and many laughs. He will be greatly missed.
