Olivette Picotte Obituary

Olivette L. (Jacques) Picotte, 94, formerly of Northbridge, died on Saturday, December 8, 2007, in St. Camillus Health Center, Whitinsville.

Her husband of 45 years, Victor Picotte, died in 1978. She leaves three children: Lorraine M. St. Martin of Alfred, ME, Victor D. Picotte of Port St. Lucie, FL, and David P. Picotte of Barefoot Bay, FL; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Clement Jacques of North Uxbridge and Gerald Jacques of Desert Springs, CA; and nephews and nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. She was born in North Uxbridge on January 27, 1913, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Rose Anna (Legare) Jacques. After living in Northbridge for 72 years, she lived in Hopedale for 2 years before moving to Whitinsville in March.

Mrs. Picotte worked as an assembler at the Telechron Division of General Electric, Ashland, for 20 years before retiring in 1975. Previously, she was a cloth inspector for many years at the former Paul Whitin Mfg. Co., Northbridge. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Parish, Northbridge, and a former member of the parish Sodality of the Ladies of St. Anne.

The funeral will be Thursday, December 13, from Turgeon Funeral Home, 80 School St., with a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville, after the Mass. Her family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11:15 AM on Thursday morning before the Mass.
