Colin Campbell Obituary

A resident of Denham Springs, Colin Michael Campbell, 20, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Through this he was able to save the lives of four people immediately with the donation of his organs. Though he was with us for only a short time, he will live on in our hearts and now in the lives of others for his love and generosity. Colin worked in flooring, but his true passion and work was as a musician/drummer with his band "Who By Fire," which recently recorded their first CD with Colin as drummer. He was also a talented writer of poetry and a lover of all animals. His care and love for all will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held at Grace Believers Bible Church, 11020 Stanley Aubin Lane, on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m., officiated by the Rev. Mark Rumfello. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Debra Campbell; two sisters who loved and adored him, Allison Allecia and Melissa Hope Campbell; two uncles, Jerry Wayne Campbell and Randy Cassady; aunt, Christine Marie Campbell Phillips; and many beloved cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Verl Calvin Cassady and Helen Ruth Cassady; paternal grandparents, Allie Harold Campbell Jr. and Jessie Christine Campbell; uncle, Ronald H. Campbell; and aunt, Terri Lynn Ewing. Arrangements by Seale Funeral Service Inc., Denham Springs.

There is peace with him now that we will not know until we are face to face with God.I know he is smiling down and watching us from above, telling us not to grieve, for this place is greater than we could ever imagine.I will never forget the time with the seminole police and the green mamba I drove, I still laugh about it. you will always be missed.
There are time of unknown virtues that take us the edge,
Yet none can imagine what world's words can move,
The thoughts of those who watch and see us on the ledge,
Yet none can pass the without the touch of the music's groove,
So powerful are the sounds that transcends from your hands,
Will forever change and mold what God's choice has planned...

Steve and Debbie,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Although I only had the pleasure of being around Colin in his earlier years, (when Allison played ball with us) he was one that was and always will be unforgetable.

Hey buddy! Thanks for the thought lately... you've really helped me keep alot of things off of my mind. Y'know, I still see you behind my drumset, and my eyes are still locked on you, brother, synchronized, sweating, and panting. Beat for beat, tone for tone, emotion by emotion. Cultivation of something so much bigger and greater than any song could ever make tangible.

Let's go back a little; You remember when we first met? I was afraid. Your reputation preceeded you. In my mind, the fruition of good thoughts of many was achieved a much different way. Surely, as great and powerful was the word, so shall be the man... or so I thought.

You weren't known for being tough. You weren't known for being strong. You brought with you a warmth that touched the soul. This in mind, I was right to be afraid. I feel to have talked, made music, and lived with greatness.

I'm going to make your dad a CD of our old practices today; I'm sure he'll enjoy the company and good times. Great memories, ones with which I'm sad to see will no longer be added to. It almost made me not want to play anymore... but I'm going to play you a song from time to time buddy, just like I said. You'll know when it's me, and the strings will ring just for you. Until we meet again, bro.

I remember Colin from when I worked at Landry's Store for a while. I also remember his Dad .Colin was well thought of by all those around there that knew him . He seemed to be one of those fun "spirits" who made those around him happier . Thats the sign of a special person . To his family , I can only wish you comfort and to feel that the beauty of a good life lives forever . When you see a blue sky or see the awesome beauty of blooming flowers , think of him and know that he is still all around you . I'm sorry for your loss .

Hey Collin. I first want you to know that we will all miss you very much. You were an awesome person, with a wonderful personality. Everytime you came in Parker's you came to my register just so you could pick on me. Honestly it doesn't seem like you are really gone. I am waiting for you to walk in the door to go buy you a 20 oz. coke, and tell me to keep the change. LOL When you and Jessica date we grew closer. I spent many of days hanging out with yall. I am so happy for you and your band. Making yalls first record is a huge accomplish. And I know how good yall can play. I so want a copy. But I love you Colin and will miss you so much!!! And this isn't good buy. It's I will see you later!!!

RIP buddy!

My deepest sympathies go out to you and your family. Colin and I went to school together at Seventh Ward Elementary, and after recently meeting again I came to find that although he was a few years older, age had not changed his gentle and compassionate heart. You've impacted so many lives, and you will indeed be greatly missed.

Colin, we lived next door to each other since we were 2 and 3. Even though we had our differences we always seemed to work them out. And that's what best friends were for. Walking outside my door and looking at your house will always be hard, but knowing that you have given life to 4 others eases the pain a little, knowing you wouldn't have had it any other way. You will be missed and forever be in my heart and mind. See ya one day my friend! I love ya man!

MY SISTER RECEIVED A HEART MONDAY EVENING AND I HAVE NO IDEA IF IT CAME FROM COLIN OR NOT, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT HIS GIFT WAS THE MOST WONDERFUL GIFT ANYONE COULD GIVE OR RECEIVE. Colin you were such a wonderful person. You had so much impact on so many peoples lives. You were a great friend. Always there when people needed you. You could always make us laugh. We all miss you so much but we take comfort in knowing that Gods plans are so much bigger than us. We love you and thank you for all that you have done in our lives.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those close to Colin at this time. He was such an influential part of so many peoples lives especially one so dear to me. He has been a role model for my six year old son Caiden who now loves the drums and tries to fix his hair like Uncle Colin and Allie who adored him with her sweet eyes. There are so many great memories of Colin that we will always have. Colin you will be loved and missed forever and always!

My boys Cody & Corey were friends with Colin since elementary school. We watched our children grow up together. The boys still talk about the big shaving cream war at Colin's house. He will be missed. You are in my thoughts & prayers. May peace be with you.

"On the sands of life sorrow treads heavily and leaves a print time can never wash away..."

My thoughts and prayers are with Colin's family and friends (my daughter is a friend) during this unbearably difficult time. I lost my oldest son 16 years ago and I know this is a pain that lasts forever. May God give you the courage and strength to go on when you think you can't take another step.
