Craig Soper Obituary
HARFORD - Craig Dennis Soper, age 50, of County Acres Mobile Home Park, Harford, NY, died Monday, March 24, 2008, at his residence. Craig was born September 26, 1957 in Somers Point, NJ, a son of Raya E. Gower Soper and Stanley J. Soper. He was a longtime resident of Harford and was graduated from Whitney Point High School in 1975. Craig was always helping others and was known for his unwavering devotion to his dog, "Billy", who also died Monday. Craig was a member of the Harford Vol. Fire Company Auxiliary. He would often help the residents of the trailer park and Creamery Hills before they could ask. Craig enjoyed listening to Elvis, pitching horse shoes, and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his parents, Raya E. Eggleston of Harford and Stanley J. (Sally) Soper of Killawog; his brothers, Vincent (Genny Leone) Soper of Richford, NY, Gordon Soper of Marathon and Michael Dunckley of Dryden; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Bonnie Soper.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, 2008, at the Perkins Funeral home with Rev. Janet D. Lee officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Those wishing to remember Craig are asked to consider a memorial, in lieu of flowers, to the Harford Vol. Fire Company, P.O. Box 7, Harford, NY 13784-0007. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com

Dear Raya,
I wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about Craig. For the short time I lived in the park he was always very friendly and helpful whenever possible I know he will be missed dearly. Dear Raya, Vince, Mike, and Gordie: Craig will be MISSED greatly. He knew everyone and was willing to help anyone. It just won't be the same without him walking through town with Billie the Kid! or riding by my house on his lawn tractor. My heart is heavy to know such a wonderful person is gone from Harford. We only knew Craig a short time, but he will be greatly missed. He welcomed us to Harford and made us feel connected to the town. Craig was a good and trustworthy friend. We will miss his daily visits and especially his humor. Our prayers and thoughts are with his Mom and family.
