Robert Tvaroha Obituary

ROBERT G. TVAROHA
GROTON - Robert G. Tvaroha Sr., 89, of Groton, NY, died after a short illness on July 1, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Born August 31, 1918 in Groton, NY, he was the son of the late John and Barbara Prehostra Tvaroha.
Having been a lifelong member of the Groton Community, he had owned and operated his dairy farm on Sovocool Hill Rd. with a passion. In his later years, he had enjoyed gardening and spending time with his children.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Mary) Jr. Tvaroha, Neal (Patty) Tvaroha and Lisa (David) MacLeod, all of Groton, and Sam Tvaroha of Indian Lake Estates, FL.; a stepson, Robb (Ken) Alongi of St. Petersburg, FL; and numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. His sister, Mary Lecoq of Varna and former daughter-in-law, Mary Blavos of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, survive him, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by his wives, Ethel McFall and Shirley Mae Baumgart; as well as his six brothers and four sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton, with the Pastor Alex Dimatteo officiating. The family will receive friends 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the West Groton Cemetery at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Groton Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund or to the Groton Nursing Facility Activities Fund.
