Francis Losurdo Obituary

FRANCIS C. LOSURDO
AURORA - Francis C. Losurdo, 79 of Sherwood Road, Aurora, New York and Fort Myers, Florida, died Monday, July 28, 2008. He was born July 16, 1929 in Syracuse, New York to the late Domenick and Josephine (Lamacchia) Losurdo. He was married to Angela Holgado for 54 years and resided in Aurora, New York for most of his life. Mr. Losurdo was a 1947 graduate of Solvay High School. He attended Clarkson University and LeMoyne College. Upon his father's death, he operated Cayuga Lake Farms in Aurora, New York. Later he managed the Agricultural Co-op in King Ferry and he was purchasing manager for Glidden-Durkee Foods in Wolcott, New York until his retirement in 1991. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Aurora, New York. An avid golfer, he played in the Wells College Golf League for almost 40 years and was a member of Cross Creek Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida.
Surviving are four children, Donna (Pierre) Beaudet of Lake Angelus, Michigan, Maria (Michael) Fragasse of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Domenic (Kathleen) Losurdo of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Frank (June) Losurdo of Lansing, New York; three grandchildren, Laura Losurdo, Natalie Losurdo, and John Losurdo; two sisters, Carmel Zollo, Marie (Gary) Stekloff; two brothers, Domenick (Margaret) Losurdo and Robert (Cherryl) Losurdo; sister-in-law, Mary (Dominick) Demperio; and brother-in-law, Manual Holgado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, who died in 2007; brothers-in-law, Michael Zollo and Joseph Holgado; and niece, Linda Demperio.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 2, 2008, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church in Aurora, New York and a Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. There will be a reception immediately following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Patrick's Cemetery Fund, c/o Good Shepherd Catholic Community, PO Box 296 Aurora, New York 13026.
Arrangements are being are handled by the Shakelton Funeral Home, Aurora, New York.

To the Losurdo family,

Sorry to hear of Franks passing, he was such a fun guy. I played a lot of golf at Cedar View in the 70's and 80's and Frank was always there.
