Mercey Fox Obituary

MERCEY ARLENE FOX
SPENCER - Mercey Arlene Fox, 92, of Spencer, died Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, PA.
She was born in Newfield, NY on June 7, 1916, the daughter of Albert "Bert" Fox and Jennie Lind DeWitt. She is survived by cousins; friends, Georgianna and Patrick Sheehe, Brian and Dennis Sheehe. Arlene retired in 1975 after being secretary to principal for 37 years at the Spencer Central School and Spencer-Van Etten Central School. She lovingly cared for her parents. She was a member of the Spencer, Sayre, Horseheads and Tioga County Historical Societies.
A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Spencer Fire Department and Spencer Emergency Squad. Arrangements are with Allen-Manzer Funeral Home.

Arlene was always so kind to all of us Spencer students. She was always friendly and helpful. She will be missed by all of her old students.

Arlene retired from SpencerVanEtten Schools about the time our two sons were born. She took a special interest in them and they in her. She traveled to Ohio more than once to visit with the boys and us. Arlene kept us informed of Spencer doings with her monthly phone calls. She was a gracious, kind, intellgent, honest person. We learned alot from Arlene. It was an honor and blessing to know her
