MY DEAR MARLENE, DIANE AND MARK,
I REMEMBER CLAUDE WHEN WE WENT TO GROTON SCHOOL ON MAIN ST. I HAD ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT HE WAS A BASHFUL/SHY GUY BUT LITTLE DID I KNOW HE WOULD START SOMETHING AND THEN HAVE THIS INNOCENT LOOK ON HIS FACE, LIKE HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. CLAUDE WAS ALWAYS A GENTLEMAN AND VERY POLITE WITH A LOT OF MANNERS, HE ALWAYS HAD A SMILE ON HIS FACE WHICH WAS VERY WARM AND VERY WELCOMING. HERE IS A LITTLE POEM THAT SOMEONE GAVE TO ME WHEN JACK PASSED AWAY AND I'LL PASS IT ON TO YOU;

I GIVE YOU THIS ONE THOUGHT TO KEEP, I AM WITH YOU STILL, I DO NOT SLEEP
I AM A THOUSAND WINDS THAT BLOW, I AM DIAMOND GLINTS ON THE SNOW, I AM SUNLIGHT ON RIPENED GRAIN, I AM THE GENTLE AUTUMN RAIN.
WHEN YOU AWAKEN IN THE MORNING'S HUSH, I AM THE UPLIFTING RUSH OF QUIET BIRDS IN CIRCLED FLIGHT. I AM THE SOFT STARS THAT SHINE AT NIGHT.
DO NOT THINK OF ME AS GONE--I AM WITH YOU STILL, IN EACH NEW DAWN.

A NATIVE AMERICAN PRAYER

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU
FROM MY HEART TO YOURS,
JACKI CURLEY BROOKS
