It was a pleasure and a privilege to be neighbors and friends of the Mengels and their children. Gordon and Doris contributed so much to our community. We will remember them fondly.

Mr.Mengel was one of my most memorable teachers at Groton. Even after I was out or school he was alway's a pleasure to talk with.

Mr. Mengel was was sixth grade teacher at Groton High School and a man I looked up to. I believe he led a full life, one of integrity and honesty. He was noble person.
