Gordon Mengel Obituary
FORMERLY OF GROTON - Gordon H. Mengel, 84, of Louisiana, formerly of Groton, NY, died August 19, 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 23, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church in Groton. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday evening, 6-8:00 p.m. at the Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St., Groton, NY.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to be neighbors and friends of the Mengels and their children. Gordon and Doris contributed so much to our community. We will remember them fondly.

Mr.Mengel was one of my most memorable teachers at Groton. Even after I was out or school he was alway's a pleasure to talk with.

Mr. Mengel was was sixth grade teacher at Groton High School and a man I looked up to. I believe he led a full life, one of integrity and honesty. He was noble person.
