Dutch was a great guy. I have many happy memories of the times when we were together in the Army Reserve. Later, I was always glad to talk to him when we ran into each other in Groton or Moravia. And whenever I saw Gail I would always ask about him. I will miss him.

I knew Dutch when I was a youngster in the Groton City Church. There are fond memories of him at church functions and as a volunteer for work around the church. I lost track of his family when I moved to Kansas but had great visits at church when we were on trips home. I will never forget that shiny head. God bless Dutch and his entire family.

To My VanBenschoten Family
I don't know where to begin. Uncle Dutch touched so many lives. I have so memories of my dear Uncle over the years. I still remember the day he was wed to his soul mate. I remember as a child visiting upstate and seeing Uncle Dutch every single day walk into Grandma Van's house for lunch and having a huge glass of milk. Forever Uncle Dutch you will be in our hearts. You may be gone but you will forever be remembered. I know your sister's and brother are up there waiting to take your hand.
Love to all the family.

Dutch was a wonderful man who showed love and kindness to all his fellowmen. We were blessed to know and have fellowship with Dutch , Betty and all their dear children for ever so long. There are too many memories to name but will always remember all of them with love... May the Lord comfort and bless each friend and family member in the coming days.. He will surely be missed by all who knew him.....

My late husand and "The Dutchman" were close friends for many, many years and I bet Dick was one of the first ones to greet Dutch when he arrived at Heaven's gate. The old Legion firing squad gang is probably busy reminiscing. Dutch was a grand guy, always friendly, always there with a hug and a "how are you". His devotion to Betty was an inspiration to all of us. I will miss him.
