Terry, I have so many wonderful memories of you. You have been a dear and trusted friend for more than forty years. With your enthusiasm, compassion and loyalty you reached out to touch the lives of thousands of students and their families, college colleagues and fellow administrators. You enjoyed golf and extensive travel during your many well-deserved years of retirement. Your spirit and wise counsel lives on among us. May God bless you and give you peace.

What a shock- I just emailed you a few weeks ago and you responded with no word of any illness. I am at a loss to figure out how you could have been so healthy and suddenly, gone. One of my favorite correspondents, my hero when I came to teach at Cornell University, and a true friend. I feel like you got off the train in the middle of the night and I didn't get a chance to tell you many things. My love and best to all - I am so sorry. Now you will have answers to many of your questions. Love, Barbara Russell Carter

You were one of a kind, Terry! I agree that you're now one of the stars in the sky you gazed at each night, but it's a little darker here knowing you're gone. Peace at last.

You were a wonderful, sharing, and caring neighbor. I will remember you for looking at the stars before you went to bed each night. Now you are one of them.
