John Goff Obituary
SPENCER - John A. Goff, 66, Spencer, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, September 8, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Oshier) Goff; children, Patsy (Raymond) Stevens, Candor, Holly (Kevin) Perry, Spencer, Kimberly (Nathan) Clark, Spencer; grandchildren, Allison and Eddie Stevens, Michael Cary, Olivia, Seth, Hope and Riley Clark; brothers and sisters, Mary Ellen Keith, Vermontville, Lulu (Lloyd) LaBrake, Lake Clear, Thomas "Bud" (Ardith) Goff, Onchiota, Gene (Ellen) Goff, Vermontville, Donald (Karen) Goff, Vermontville, Betty (Garry) Wilson, Vermontville, David (Dianne) Goff, Vermontville; nieces and nephews.
John was born in Saranac Lake, NY, December 3, 1941, the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Tyler) Goff. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Bruce Goff; two sisters, Ann Yott and Emma Keith.
John retired from his plumbing and heating business. He had been Captain of Spencer Emergency Squad in the 1980's. He was a member of the Spencer Fire Department. John served as Spencer Village Justice since 1990.
Friends may call on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Allen-Manzer Funeral Home, Spencer, NY.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Barrows officiating. Memorials may be directed to North Spencer Christian Academy, 721 Ithaca Rd., Spencer, NY 14883.

The loss of John will be felt by so many! The battle he had to fight has been a long and hard one. The love he had for all of you, and you had for him, was seen by everyone who knows you! We are so sorry to hear that he is gone, but know he is watching over all of you with the same love he always has! Memories will keep him alive in the hearts of everyone!

Dad,
Today we all gather to pay tribute to you, knowing you will be forever in our hearts and memories. You were a remarkable father that taught us the value of responsibility, generosity, understanding and most importantly, the love of family. The love and support you've given us came freely and without question.
As you teach the angels how to play pinnochle (the right way) and reminisce with family and friends gone on before you, know that we will all be together again someday. For now, we will celebrate the many values and memories that remain as your legacy to us. I will miss you dearly and will always love you.

To the Goff family- Was so sorry to hear of your loss. John was a very caring person whether it was a fire, an accident or greeting people and giving a hug at the funeral home. John was a wonderful man. He was a second Dad to me. I admire him for the unconditional love he gave to others. He was very supportive of me as I was growing up. He was a strong man who thought of others before himself. He was there for you and put his family first. He adored his wife, girls and grandchildren all of which brought him much joy and happiness!
I will miss him but know that he's in good hands.
The whole family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God wrap His arms around you and comfort you all during this time.

We are sorry to hear of your loss of John. No matter if he was carrying out a sentence in court or greeting you at the funeral home, he was always a very nice and caring man and always held pleasant conversations.
