William Brown Obituary

WILLIAM "RABBIT" BROWN
ITHACA - William "Rabbit" Brown, age 79, of Ithaca, passed away Wednesday, October 22nd, at Lakeside Nursing Home.
He was born on May 30th, 1929 in Ithaca. He was the son of the late Roy and Bernice Brown. He was a United States Army Veteran and recipient of a Purple Heart. He worked as a laborer, security guard, and delivered the Syracuse newspaper. He was best known for being a bar dealer and gun dealer. He enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and meeting his friends at the local diner for coffee. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Brown; two daughters, Randi Clark and Vicki Tompkins of Interlaken; two sons, Tony Brown of Georgia and William Compton of Florida; six grandchildren, Alvah Watson, Faith, Damion, and Lukas Brown, and David and Ricky Compton; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Asa and Christian Compton.
William was predeceased by his son, Billy Brown; and two brothers, Louis and Robert Brown.
A graveside service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, New York, 10001.
