Marjorie Jones Obituary
ITHACA - Marjorie L. Jones, 90, of Ithaca, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Oak Hill Manor. She was born in Spencer, NY on January 13, 1918, the daughter of the late Charles and Florence VanOstrand.
Marjorie is survived by her devoted husband of 67 years, Tracy; her daughters, Barbara Zanato and Joann Williams; and her grandchildren, Karen Carter, Kevin Williams, Scott Zanato and Tracy Strub. She is also survived by her seven grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie retired from the Paleontological Research Institute where she had worked for many years. She and Tracy enjoyed many years vacationing at their much loved cottage in Canada. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who imparted her love of nature to all.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Jordan officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Resident Fund of Oak Hill Manor, 602 Hudson St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
