Monica worked at Reliance Insurance Company in Los Angeles from 1977-1980. In Ithaca she joined Best Buy Electronics in September 2001 as one of the first set of employees to open the Ithaca Store, where she worked until her untimely death.
Monica was loved by everyone that interacted with her. She enjoyed reading, baking and cooking. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She had patience, a great sense of humor and compassion. She will be missed by all.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Cayuga Medical Center ICU in Ithaca and Strong Health Highland Hospital ICU in Rochester for the compassionate care Monica received in the past six weeks.

The Amuti family deeply mourns the passing of Monica Sogah. Our families have been linked for many years and Monica (aka Maame Sogah) was an integral part of the wonderful memories created during those years. She was second mother to my children and big sister to me. Having touched so many lives in countless ways, Monica’s great sense of humor, compassion, and love for all those she encountered will always be remembered. But I will always remember the lessons she taught me about humility, patience and love of family. We will miss you, Maame Sogah!
