Francis Walters Obituary
MORAVIA - Francis "Norm" Walters, 83, a former resident of Sayles Corners Rd., Moravia, Palm Bay, FL, and Interlaken, NY, died Monday, November 19, 2007, at Northwoods Facility, Moravia, following a long illness.
Norm was born March 3, 1924 in Apulia Station, NY, the son of Charles F. and Marguerite Parcells Walters. He owned and operated a dairy farm on Sayles Corner Rd. for many years. He also operated the Lane 9 Restaurant in Moravia and Norm's Diner in Interlaken prior to his retirement.
He was a member of Sylvan Lodge #41 F & AM and a former member of the Grange League Federation, Agway and the New Hope Fire Dept.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Beatrice Burlingham Walters in 1969; and his second wife, Gwenn Leonard Walters in 2006; and two daughters, Francine Signor and Darlene Mulvaney
He is survived by children: Norma Jean Bancroft of Moravia, Irene (Mark) Conklin of Locke, Kathleen Stayton of Auburn, Greg (Arlene) Walters of Moravia, Jim Walters of Cortland, Audrey (Leon) Krull of Auburn, Frank (Cindee) Walters of Moravia, Lt. Tony (Elissa) Walters, USN, San Diego, CA, Steve (Kim) Brazo of Ohio, Roger (Sue) Brazo of Moravia, Eddie Shea of Moravia, Mike Brazo of Michigan, Renee Gates and Brian (Carolyn) Gates, both of Trumansburg; son-in-law, John Signor of Moravia; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, 2007, at the Wade Funeral Home, 22 Church St., Moravia, NY. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Moravia Fire Dept., Box #686, Moravia, NY 13118.
