Richard Leonard Obituary
May 13, 1916-
Aug. 31, 2005
Born the son of the late George B. Leonard and Lena Evans Leonard in the town of Caroline.
Survivors are his three children, two sisters, Elizabeth Fuller of Texas, Pearl Parker of Brookton-dale, one brother, George B. Leonard Jr. of Willseyville.
He spent over 20 years in the military, enlisting on June 3, 1942. He was a member of the 609 Tank Destroyer Batallion. He fought in France, Luxenberg, Germany and later in Korea. He held three campaign stars, Good Contact, Victory Metals and a Presidential Citation. He was a member of the local Disabled American Vets.
