Robert Flynn Obituary

ROBERT J. FLYNN
BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI - Bob Flynn, 72, passed away November 18 in Bloomfield Hills, MI, after a long, courageous bout with cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Flynn of Bloomfield Hills, MI; his daughters, Caron Meendering (David) of Coldwater, MI, Wendy Shannon (Tom) of Sherman Oaks, CA, and Cher're Walters (Tim) of Troy, MI, and their daughter, Ariell; his brother, Ken (Carolyn) of Carlsbad, CA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, May and Ken Flynn of Ithaca.
Bob was an outstanding athlete at Ithaca High School, lettering in football, wrestling, baseball, and track. He was inducted into the IHS Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Wyoming Seminary (PA) Hall of Fame, having starred in football, wrestling, and baseball. He went on to Cornell University where he starred in baseball. He earned a degree in Hotel Management.
Contributions may be sent to the Robert J. Flynn Memorial Fund, c/o the Athletic Department, Cornell University (Baseball).
Services will be held at Christ Church of Cranbrook, Bloomfield Hills, MI at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 30, 2007.

I will always remember Bob as a friend and mentor in Wrestling, Football and Track (Pole Vaulting) at IHS. I always enjoyed meeting with Bobbie at the many IHS re-unions.He will be sooo missed.

I send my deepest sympathy to Bob's family. What can one say upon the loss of a dear friend. He was one-of-a-kind. I shall miss him, especially at reunions when he would stand up and shout, "Let's have a yell, Aurora!"

I am a close friend of Bob's brother, Ken, but I certainly knew Bobby. I was shocked and sad to hear of his passing and I send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. I can picture him so vividly with that mischievous sparkle in his eye and that warm smile. My heart goes out to all of you.

Bobby was one of my neighbors growing up as I lived right across the street on Lincoln St. He was one of my childhood hero's as well as his older brother Ken. I am sad to hear of his passing and wish to extend my condolances to his family.

We grew up together in good ol` FALL Creek.Familys were friends and a lot of playing ball with my brother Max Hagin Jr. and Bobs brother Ken and all neighbor kids.
