Judith Hockenberry Obituary

JUDITH M. HOCKENBERRY
TRUMANSBURG - Judith M. Hockenberry, 54, of 7079 Halseyville Rd., Trumansburg, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 9, 2007. Born in Ithaca, NY, on April 6, 1953, Judy was a daughter of Shirley Westbrook Mix West of Interlaken, NY, and the late Leslie H. Mix.
Judy was predeceased by her husband, Richard S. Hockenberry on November 11, 2001; and her father, Leslie H. Mix on May 12, 1991.
Judy is survived by her sons, Leslie J. Hockenberry and Joshua P. Hockenberry, both of Trumansburg, Richard S. Hockenberry Jr. of Florida; daughters, Rebekah L. (Donald) Everts of Trumansburg, and Leila L. (Paul) Miller of Locke; mother, Shirley (Richard) West; brothers, Robert F. (Linda) Mix of Arkansas, Richard K. Mix of Florida, Christopher D. (Beth) Mix of Trumansburg; stepbrothers, Kevin West of Watkins Glen, and Jamie West of Trumansburg; sisters, Juanita A. (Thomas) Staples of Interlaken, Donna J. Laue of Enfield, Cynthia D. (Larry) Grant of South Carolina, Kimberly M. Mix of Enfield, and Alexis P. Mix of Interlaken; stepsister, Angela West of Watkins Glen; twelve grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Judy was a loving and caring daughter, sister, wife and mother who will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. She was always available to help anyone in need.
The family will be present to receive friends at the Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South St., Trumansburg, on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, from 6-8 p.m.
A Memorial Service officiated by Rev. Jeff Losey will be held at the Trumansburg United Methodist Church on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 2:00 p.m.

Judy always made me the best coffee when I stopped by for a visit with her and her kids many years ago. I also remember some really good sweet bread and cookies.

She was a super mom who really loved her kids and they knew it.
