Jerome "Jerry" Cippiciani, 65, of Peckville, passed away Thursday at Geisinger Community Medical Center with his daughter, Laura, and sister, Marie, at his side.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late David and Mary Jardine Cippiciani. He was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and was employed at the former Mid Valley Long Term Care Center. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. He resided in Peckville for most of his life.
Jerry enjoyed having breakfast with his friends at Coccetti's Restaurant, talking politics and solving life's problems. He was a devout Catholic and enjoyed going to Mass at Sacred Heart Church. He loved watching sports on TV, especially his favorite team, the Steelers, and being with his family.
He was devoted to his family, especially his daughter, Laura. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank the 7th floor nurses in the EMU unit for their kindness and compassion. Also, his friends at the high-rise who helped take care of him.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura Cippiciani, Peckville; a sister, Marie Cherundolo and husband, Anthony, Old Forge; a brother-in-law, Pat Rosenella, Throop; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Diana Rosenella.
The funeral will be held Wednesday from the James M. Margotta Funeral Home, 1019 Main St., Peckville, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville. Interment, Italian-American Cemetery, Scranton. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. All CDC guidelines will be in effect, and masks must be worn. I remember always seeing Jerry walking to Quinns and as many times as I would remind him he should not be walking and I would tell him to come get me when he needed something he would walk anyway. I met Jerry on the first night he moved in by the elevator he asked me if I could come and hook up his tv it was my pleasure I will miss our talks and basic friendship RIP Jerry
