Gerard W. Dermody, 68, of Dunmore, passed away Wednesday morning at Regional Hospital in Scranton.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Jane Carroll Dermody and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. Before retirement, he worked as an electronics technician at Tobyhanna Army Depot.
He was an avid golfer and a Dunmore Lady Bucks fan. He enjoyed doing yardwork and being in the company of his brothers. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving are brothers, Edward Jr., Boulder, Colo.; James, Blakely; Michael and wife, Sandy, Jessup; and John, Dunmore; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a niece, Erin Dermody.
A public funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Chestnut Street, Dunmore. Those attending the Mass are kindly and respectfully asked to socially distance and are required to wear a mask upon entering the church.
Inurnment, Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. There are no public calling hours.
