Mary Anne Dargatis, 79, formerly of Peckville, passed away July 30 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown, where she was lovingly cared for over the past two years.
Born in Peckville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Szot Lepkowski, and the wife of the late Robert Dargatis, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Jessup High School class of 1959 and Marywood University class of 1963 with a degree in mathematics. A lifelong love of learning, she later went on to get her master's degree in psychology from Marywood University. She taught high school math and homebound students before making a career change to computer programming.
She enjoyed art, reading, interior decorating, and playing FreeCell & Solitaire on the computer.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Deegan and husband, Edward, Bethlehem; son, David and wife, Beth, Vienna, Va.; granddaughters, Jessica Deegan and Emelia Dargatis; sister, Carole Astolfi and husband, George, Jessup; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Joseph and Edward.
There will be no public calling hours.
A graveside service and interment will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Jessup at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary Anne's name to her beloved alma mater: Marywood University, 2300 Adams Ave., Scranton, PA 18509.

I´m sorry to hear of the loss of Mary Ann . She was always very kind and happy, and had the best hair of anyone I knew! Memories of her will always be pleasant. I´m so sorry for your families loss.

I have many fond memories of Mary Anne from high school. She was one of the sweetest, kindest, and most talented of our classmates. I´m sorry she is no longer with us.
