Lynne Fisher, beloved mother, grandmother and friend, died on July 17, 2020, after a yearlong battle with leukemia. Her husband of 48 years, Robert B. Fisher, passed away in 2014.
Born on Aug. 9, 1943, to the late Willard and Beth (Forkel) Seymour in Kingston, Pa., Lynne was valedictorian of her Lakeland High School class, and graduated from Kutztown University. Lynne taught art in the Forest City and Elk Lake school districts before raising her family in Factoryville. She returned to oil painting after retiring to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, basing much of her work on Bob's sunrise photos taken from their balcony. She will be remembered for her sense of adventure, her curiosity, her love for her friends and family, and the tell-tale sparkle in her eyes when she was up to mischief.
Lynne is survived by her children, Gretchen Fisher and Mike Klinginsmith, of Moreland Hills, Ohio; Greg and Carrie Fisher, of Moscow, Pa.; Rachel and Ted Parkman, of Foxboro, Mass.; and Elizabeth and Adolfh Herrera, of Middleburg, Fla.; siblings, Larry and Mimi Seymour, of Benton Twp., Pa.; Jane and David Mobley, of Gibsonia, Pa.; Suzanne and Wayne Harley, of Nicholson, Pa.; and Karen Bifano, of Terre Haute, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving companion of several years, Geoffrey Cox, of Peterborough, Ontario.
Friends and family are cordially invited to a short graveside service on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 2 p.m. at Valley View Memorial Park in Jermyn. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
