Charles "Chuck" Conforti, age 87 and a lifelong resident of Old Forge, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021. His wife, Marie (Meranti) Conforti, survives him. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 4.
Born in Old Forge, son of the late Anthony and Mary (Minella) Conforti, Chuck was a graduate of Old Forge High School before graduating with cum laude distinction from the University of Scranton with a degree in accounting. He further studied through the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance and he would retire after a longtime career as an accountant.
Of Roman Catholic faith, Chuck was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Prince of Peace Parish, Old Forge.
He is survived by his children, grandchildren ("big bruisers" as he so called them) and great-grandchildren: his daughter, Jeannine Pugliano and husband, Louis, of State College, with their children, Vito and wife, Erin; and sons, Nico and Luca; and Carlo and wife, Monica, and sons, Dominic and Vincent; and his son, Charles Conforti Jr. and wife, Shawn, of Forty Fort, and their children, Brandon and wife, Mellisa; and son, Greyson; Kayla and husband, Nick; and Karlee and husband, Shane, and son, Kaiden; his brother, Anthony Conforti and wife, Mary Ann, of Phoenixville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Stella Wescott.
Chuck's family wishes to acknowledge and thank Drs. Jeffrey D'Andrea, Dr. Michael Fath and Dr. Pramthesh Desai for the collective care given to Chuck and to everyone from Tiffany Court in Kingston for their continued kindness and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, to be celebrated by Monsignor John Sempa, pastor. Private burial will follow at Old Forge Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the funeral are asked to go directly to the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Chuck's name to the donor's favorite charity.
