Susan J. Inda, 91, of North Scranton, passed away at home on Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023, after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Inda.
Born in Hazleton, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Florence Hughes Hinkle. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Lunden Dress/Goodmanner Dress as a presser for over 35 years. She was of the Protestant faith.
Susan loved making sauce, cakes and pies, then giving them to family and friends. She also loved her trips to Ocean City, Maryland and Lancaster with her nephew, John Kellet.
Surviving are daughter, Donna Inda, with whom she resided; also surviving are daughter, Denise Linney, Clarks Summit; son-in-law, James Linney and companion, Sharon Hartung, Glenburn Twp.; grandchildren Jaime Pisko and husband, Matt; Kyle Linney and girlfriend, Lauren; and Taryn Martin and husband, Brian; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Jane Pisko; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The last of seven siblings, she was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Kellet, Florence Cavanaugh, Edith Caviston and Mary Bromage; brother, John Hinkle; and stepbrother, Raymond Mumford.
Susan's family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful Allied Services In-Home Hospice staff, from the nurses to the aides.
Per Susan's wishes, she will be cremated and buried with her mother at Fairlawn Cemetery in Dalton. Graveside services will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in Fairlawn Cemetery. There will be no viewing or public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Susan's memory can be made to Allied Services Hospice, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
